Lesson prices are reviewed each year.

Lesson duration: Lesson length is a combination of factors. Whether or not you are planning for you or your child to take graded exams, with the increasing difficulty and length of repertoire that comes with musical training, a longer lesson is required. The only exception is adult beginners for cello - lessons are for 60 minutes with the option of flexible lesson arrangements.

  • Grade 1- 3 (including beginners) - 30 minutes
  • Grades 4-5  - 45 minutes
  • Grades 6+ - 60 minutes

My Qualifications/Registrations:

  • PGCE & QTS Music - University of Sussex
  • GCSE & A Level Examiner & Moderator
  • Enhanced DBS certificate
  • Public Liability Insurance to £10m
  • Member of Independent Society of Musicians (ISM)
  • Member of the London Cello Society

Billing options: There are two billing options, monthly or half-termly. In either case, the invoice is payable within 7 days of issue. Invoices are issued a week in advance of the start of the period they cover. This therefore means that I will not offer lessons without prior payment. Lessons are optional in the holidays and I will establish with you as part of our initial agreement which option you want.

Absence/Sickness: My fees cover both the teaching within the lesson, the planning for the lesson and the reservation of your weekly time slot. Therefore, I require 2 weeks' notice of planned absences. Unplanned absences and/or sickness are billable unless another slot can be found within a fortnight to replace it.

Cancellation: If you wish to cancel lessons outright, you must give 1 month's notice in writing. In practice this means one final invoice which is payable and which you can choose whether to attend or not.
